Giraffe Centre

Giraffe Centre
Sunday - 11.18.2012

After we finished our visit at the Elephant Orphanage, we drove a short distance over to the Giraffe Centre for our second tourist activity of the day! The Giraffe Centre promotes wildlife education and conservation. During your visit, they give you little nuggets of food and the giraffes eat directly out of your hand! The back story to this is that Sean visited the Giraffe Centre during a previous trip to Nairobi. There is a picture of a giraffe eating out of his hand, and he has a very sheepish look on his face and is turned away from the giraffe. I have always given him a hard time for the picture. It turns out on my first visit, I made the same face in the pictures!!! Now we have matching pictures!

Giraffes in the distance

The staff puts food in the boxes to attract the giraffe to come eat at the hut. All the people stand on the platform!
